In this Article

Mizri Ghar, a beautiful but neglected masterpiece of Mount Solomon, is in no way inferior to Fort Munro, Murree, Kashmir, and the northern regions in its natural beauty and picturesque scenery. The cool breezes here, wild fruits such as grapes, pomegranates, olives, and almonds, and snowfall in February and March give this place a unique tourist status. Unfortunately, there is no proper road to reach Mizri Ghar, which makes this magnificent area a problem for both tourists and locals. If the government builds quality roads here, it can not only become the best tourist center of Pakistan but can also boost the local economy.

Mizri Ghar Expedition (The third highest peak of Mount Solomon)

A priceless journey to my home

After reaching the southern peak of Mizri Ghar, we rested in the shade of trees, drank Sulaimani Kahwa and then set out in the north direction. In this direction, we crossed several small patches of pine and pine forests. The temperature here was barely below ten degrees.

Activity in changing weather

After about half an hour of travel, a large settlement came before us. There were traditional stone houses of Mount Solomon here, about thirty to forty in number. People had also built ponds here, which were filled with water. Well, it is important to mention here that all these houses were empty because the people here come to the top from the bottom of the mountain in June and July and then go back down in September by taking the Chilgoza. The western slope of the mountain is with the Sherani tribe while the eastern slope and the top are with the Zimari tribe.

Dangerous weather and observations

Well, sitting in this settlement, we ate and drank something and during this time we had some discussions with the local guides about the weather because black clouds were hovering overhead. We had come by plane that we would spend the night on the top but the local guides did not support us, according to them, it is very dangerous on the top during rain, lightning often falls, so we will have to return today.

Well, we started moving towards higher heights from this town, after about an hour we reached the top which was apparently the highest, we had just taken some pictures when it started raining, it became so cold that the raindrops were freezing as they fell, we started running back, it was already 6 pm by then, we tried to do the difficult part in the daylight, well after an hour the darkness of night fell and we did the rest of the journey in flashlights and reached back to Laghara Sir safely.

Conclusion

We are grateful to Sajjad-ul-Hassan Sherani, Nadeem Khan Sherani and all the local guides who accompanied us for this entire expedition. I would also like to give credit to MA Lakhani for introducing this beautiful place to the tourist community. Mizri Ghar is such a priceless gift of nature that needs development.

Better roads and facilities will highlight the importance of this place and make this region an example to the world. For the general public, Mizri Ghar is a tourist destination of the future, it is not yet built, but at present there are no difficult paths, facilities, the risk of falling on some paths is high. Only adventurers go to any place at their own risk. At present, this point of view has become the view of many people and most tourists are still going to this paradise-like place and generally some people keep wishing and wishing to go here.
